What if something happens to your home while you’re away travelling? With home assistance, Platinum cardholders can request immediate help on the spot in the form of an advance on costs to deal with damage or loss due to a break-in, fire, natural hazard or water and glass breakage at their home in their place of residence.

The insurance covers the cardholder (primary, second, additional and partner cards), their spouse or partner living in the same household and children under the age of 25 who are entitled to support, provided they live in the same household or are resident in Switzerland.

The insurance covers damage or loss due to a fire, natural hazard, break-in or water and glass breakage as well as the loss or theft of house keys provided that this affects the residential property in the place of residence of the insured person during a trip.

Exclusions from the insurance cover include the following:

• Measures that have not been organised by the insurer.
• Damage due to the neglect or gradual deterioration of the residential property as a result of a lack of maintenance by the insured person.
• Walls, gates, hedges, fences, outbuildings, sheds, free-standing garages or anything else that is outside the boundaries of the apartment or house/property.
• Installations that are the responsibility of the relevant water, gas and electricity suppliers, or installations in an apartment building that are not the sole responsibility of the policyholder.
• The insurer is not liable for damage caused by a service provider it has commissioned.

If an insured event occurs, the insurer (phone +41 44 283 34 18) must be contacted without delay and its consent obtained for any assistance measures to be taken. The emergency call centre is available around the clock.

Send the claim form and the following documents to the insurer as soon as possible:

• Evidence of damage to/in the residential property
• Booking confirmation for the trip
• Receipts for costs
